Formatting cells in Excel so you can control the placement of your dollar sign and how you want the date to appear. You do not want your dollar sign way over on the left and your amount of money way over on the right: Format Cells Number tab Currency Symbol $ Decimal places – 2 Negative numbers – choose the style you want You don’t like it when the date chooses a form you don’t like: Format Cells Number tab Date Choose the type you want.
