Sometimes after a major overhaul, the computer is set at a default for some particular software. For instance, all of my Photoshop Documents were being converted to Microsoft Office Document Imaging. If that happens go to Windows Explorer (Window-E). Tools > Folder Options > File Types > Highlight the one you want to change. Hit “Change.” Highlight the one you want to change it to.

I highlighted TIF and TIFF (separately) then hit “change” and highlighted Adobe Photoshop. Click OK. Also, make sure that “Always use the selected program to open this kind of file” is checked.
